A year in the planning, design and construction, ‘Water Aurora’ represents American visual artist Stephen Stefanou’s latest foray into the world of ‘interactive conservation entertainment’ as hanging kelp and other features invite you right into the surreal water world bounded by a breathtaking 8-metre tall cylindrical aquarium. See three Blacktip Reef Sharks from the Great Barrier Reef plus thousands of fish from Hainan weave through the coral fortress overhead, while computer-aided design, LED lighting that mimics day and night, and three-dimensional (3D) printing merge reality with fast-flowing fantasy.
